At Best Paws Home, we understand that bringing a new puppy into your family is an exciting time, and we also understand that not every family can drive to pick up their puppy in person. That is why we offer several safe, reliable delivery options for our Shih Tzu and Yorkshire Terrier puppies. Your puppy’s safety, comfort, and low-stress travel are our highest priorities. We never ship puppies as cargo in the belly of an airplane. Instead, we use only safe, proven methods that keep your puppy comfortable and well-cared for throughout their journey to you.

Section 2: In-Person Pickup (Recommended)

The best way to welcome your new puppy is to pick them up directly from our home. This allows you to see where your puppy was raised, meet the parent dogs if available, and ask any last-minute questions face to face. We are located in the United States, and we will provide our full address to approved buyers after an application has been accepted and a deposit has been placed. In-person pickup is always free, and you are welcome to bring a carrier or a soft blanket for your puppy to ride home in. We recommend scheduling your pickup for a morning or early afternoon so your puppy has plenty of daylight to begin settling into their new life with you.

Section 3: Professional Nanny Delivery

For families who cannot travel to us, our most popular shipping option is professional nanny delivery. A nanny is a trusted, experienced pet transporter who personally drives your puppy from our home directly to your home or a nearby meeting location. Your puppy travels inside the nanny’s private vehicle, not in a cargo hold or in a crowded van with dozens of other animals. The nanny stops regularly for potty breaks, water, and gentle handling. Your puppy is never left alone or placed in a kennel with unfamiliar dogs. Nanny delivery is available throughout the continental United States, and pricing depends on the distance from our location to your address. Typical nanny delivery costs range from three hundred to six hundred dollars. We will provide an exact quote before you confirm your reservation, and we will share the nanny’s name, phone number, and vehicle description with you so you can track their progress.

Section 4: Flight Nanny Service

For longer distances or faster delivery, we offer flight nanny service. A flight nanny is a professional pet transporter who books a commercial flight and carries your puppy inside the airplane cabin with them. Your puppy travels in an airline-approved soft carrier that fits under the seat directly in front of the nanny. This means your puppy is never placed in cargo and is always within arm’s reach of a caring human. The flight nanny will send you photo updates during layovers and will deliver your puppy directly to you at the arrival airport baggage claim or cell phone waiting lot. Flight nanny costs typically range from four hundred fifty to seven hundred fifty dollars, which includes the nanny’s airline ticket, the puppy’s in-cabin pet fee, and ground transportation on both ends. We will coordinate the flight schedule with you to ensure a smooth and timely delivery.

Section 5: What We Never Do

We want to be completely transparent about what we will never do when shipping a puppy. We never ship puppies as cargo in the belly of an airplane. We never use USDA-licensed commercial ground shippers that transport dozens of animals in wire crates stacked on top of each other. We never send a puppy alone on a plane or in a van without a dedicated human companion. We never ship a puppy younger than eight weeks old, and we never ship a puppy who has not received a clean bill of health from our veterinarian within seven days of travel. If any delivery method puts your puppy at risk, we simply do not offer it. Your puppy’s safety always comes before convenience or lower cost.

Section 6: What Your Puppy Travels With

Every puppy who leaves Best Paws Home, whether by pickup or delivery, travels with a complete travel kit to keep them comfortable during the journey and beyond. Each puppy travels with a soft, absorbent blanket that smells like their mother and littermates, which provides comfort and reduces anxiety during transit. They also travel with a small bag of the same food they have been eating at our home, so you do not have to worry about an upset stomach from sudden food changes. We also include a few puppy pee pads in case of accidents during travel, a small toy that has been in their play area, and a folder containing their health records, vaccination history, microchip information, and a signed copy of our health guarantee. You do not need to purchase anything extra for your puppy to travel safely.

Section 7: Pickup and Delivery Day Instructions

If you are picking up your puppy in person, we ask that you arrive within the scheduled time window and call or text us when you arrive. We will bring your puppy outside or invite you inside depending on current health and safety considerations. Please bring a secure carrier or a harness and seatbelt attachment for the car ride home, as an unsecured puppy in a moving vehicle is dangerous for both you and the puppy. If you are receiving delivery by nanny or flight nanny, please be ready at the agreed meeting location or airport at least fifteen minutes early. The nanny has a schedule to keep, and your puppy has been waiting to see you. You will need to present a photo ID matching the name on the adoption contract before the nanny releases the puppy to you. There are no exceptions to this security requirement.

Section 8: Shipping Costs and Payment

All shipping and delivery costs are paid by the buyer and are non-refundable once travel arrangements have been booked. We will provide you with a written quote before you authorize any shipping method, and you must approve the cost in writing before we make any reservations. Shipping fees are paid separately from the puppy’s deposit and remaining balance. We accept payment for shipping via the same methods we accept for puppy purchases, including credit card, bank transfer, or cash at pickup. We never mark up shipping costs for profit. The price we quote you is the exact price the nanny, flight nanny, or airline charges us. We can provide receipts upon request if you would like to verify the cost.

Section 9: Weather and Travel Delays

We reserve the right to delay shipping if weather conditions or other safety concerns put your puppy at risk. Extreme heat, extreme cold, major storms, and airline travel advisories are all valid reasons for us to postpone delivery. Your puppy’s safety is never worth a few days of convenience. If we delay shipping due to weather or safety concerns, we will work with you to reschedule for the earliest safe date. You will not be charged any additional fees for a weather-related delay. We also recommend that if you are picking up your puppy in person, you check weather conditions along your driving route before departing. A stressed or overheated puppy is not a happy puppy.

Section 10: International Shipping

At this time, Best Paws Home only ships puppies within the continental United States. We do not offer international shipping to Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, or any other country outside the United States. This is because international pet travel requires complex health certificates, quarantine periods, and extended travel times that we believe are too stressful for young Shih Tzu and Yorkie puppies. If you live outside the United States but still wish to adopt from us, you are welcome to fly to the United States and pick up your puppy in person, then return home with your puppy in the cabin of your international flight. You are responsible for understanding and complying with your home country’s pet import requirements. We will provide all necessary health documents to support your travel.
